Equitable Wilmington Funding Supports Latin American Community Center, Inc. – Early Development Center

The Latin American Community Center (LACC) is Delaware’s premiere nonprofit organization serving the Latino community of Wilmington. LACC works with a culturally vibrant and dynamic community that confronts poverty, unemployment, access to healthcare, and the need for all levels of education. LACC recently joined community leaders, project partners and the Wilmington community to celebrate the groundbreaking for the LACC Early Development Center, a 16,300 square foot facility, which will expand LACC’s early childcare services from 136 students to 214 and provide a space for children to develop both mentally and physically during the most crucial stages of life. NCALL Loan Fund and Cinnaire collaborated to provide a $3.6 million loan to support the Early Development Center. Additional funding partners include the State of Delaware and the Longwood Foundation.

The new facility is located at 402 and 403 N. Van Buren Street in Wilmington’s Hilltop neighborhood on the Westside. Since 1959, LACC has facilitated in addressing the ever changing and growing needs of the community by offering programs and experiences that center on lifelong learning and life empowerment.
